2-15-2010 - Just added a new video of Keeva going under saddle on February 13, 2010.
2-4-2010 - Our 2009 WPCSA Awards are in, and we are very happy with how the ponies did. We didn't take on every show in our Region, but we still placed very well.
Unbridled Vendetta - NW Region Champion Section B Welsh Filly 2 and under
Couldn't be happier with our first homebred filly taking the Championship for the region. She was very fun to show and quite the entertainment to watch!
*Danaway Sunny - 3rd Nationally for Section D Welsh Cob Stallions, NW Region Champion Section D Stallion, 4th Ridden Cob and 4th English Pleasure Section C/D.
For his first year under saddle and his second year back in hand after being out of the show ring for 5 years, couldn't be more pleased!
1-1-2010 - Welcome 2010! We are very excited to have the new year here! Looking forward to bringing out some new ponies and keeping the others going. If you are looking into sending a pony to us, please make sure that you contact us and get a contract! We wouldn't want you loosing a spot for the upcoming season.
12-4-2009 - We are getting ready for the Holiday Season around here. With temps that don't go above 20 degrees now days, I think that winter is officially here. The tree is up and there are already presents under it. Mostly for the little one. This will be our first Christmas with Keaton! We are so excited, and shopping has been a blast this year.
The plans for next year are going to be mainly the Sport Horse scene with all our homebreds, a first for us! Keeva and her sister Millie along with Mary Jane will hit the ring. Very pleased with all 3 fillies and I think that they are going to hold their own very well. I'm hoping to do the hunter tials with Keeva and maybe some eventing. We are VERY excited to have a very qualified trainer come into our area and I'm going to take the opportunity to take lessons with her to further my education in the higher levels. I think that it will be fun and the ponies are all nice enough to take to the next level and be at the top.
I'm hoping to get Keaton in Leadline, we will see how far that goes, but I think that he will like it. He loves being in the barn already and his pony is such a sweetheart with him. So hopefully that works out. I'm also going to do the 'L' Program with the USDF. I think that will be a blast and another step for my education in Dressage.
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! So can't wait til the show season!

11-17-2009 - Our first awards are in! We are very thrilled to announce that our first homebred Section B 2 year old filly, Unbridled Vendetta, won the 2009 AWE/OWPS Highpoint award for over all Section B! I'm happy!! More are on the way!

10/12/2009 - Fall is offically here!! Our temperatures have dropped so bad. We wake up to 15 degrees in the morning and end around 40 in the afternoon. Very cold, but the animals seem to be doing good. Chickens have settled into the barn and the ponies outside have their blankets. They seem to have the friskies, running and bucking around when the breeze picks up. We have picked up on training the little ones. Pictured above is our new project, Adolwyn Cassiel, a Section D Welsh Cob weanling. She is a full sister to our Cob mare, Adolwyn Caoihme. We look forward to this one taking off in the show ring!

9/22/2009 - We have settled down into training mode for the Fall. My goal is to have every pony riding by November. I have Keeva going very well now and Norma Jeane is starting her full training under saddle. Pictured above with her third ride, first time in the arena and first time trotting. She is doing amazing. Very kind and is taking the under saddle thing in stride. She is quite the filly, standing only 12:2, I so love riding her. After coming off the larger cobs back down to the smaller pony, it makes for quite the ride. I really do enjoy this filly and can't thank Hal and Lei of Lascaux Welsh enough for letting me purchase her.
9-13-2009 - Well, I think that Fall is offically here. Tempatures are getting down to the thirties, and the ponies are starting to hair up. Keeva is going wonderful under saddle. Now the debate is on whether to show her in Dressage or Reining next year. We will see how training goes from here till spring of 2010. Norma Jeane has been started under saddle, she seems to be quite easy so far, which is always a good sign. We will be starting Mary Jane also under saddle this fall, hopefully she will be showing next year under saddle.
As Fall comes in to full bloom, we hope to make for the trails and to show our chickens.
8-25-2009 - Well, we had a wonderful show the weekend of the 22-21 of August. The ponies did a fabulous job of showing, couldn't ask for better performance in hand. We brought along 3 this time, one to make sure the show made gold. So it was Sunny, Keeva and Mary Jane. The first to show in hand was Mary Jane, AKA Unbridled Vendetta, she put on another incredible show in hand, probably the best trot in the class. She was First and Fifth in the Section B 2 and under class. Then Keeva took the ring, first time showing in hand since her 2 year old year. She was wonderful. I didn't have her in "Welsh" shape, due to the fact that she has been riding in the Dressage ring and is still a 3 year old. Her mane and tail were pulled for the Sport Horse Ring also, so I really didn't expect her to do incredible, but fair. She took home 2 third places in the 3/4 year old mare class. I will say that she probably moved the best in the class, tight hocks and great reach. She also went into the Sport Pony Class, and took home 2 Firsts and Double Grand Champion Sport Pony. I was pleased with her in every shape!
The last to show was Sunny. He put on the best show of any pony or cob probably in the show. His movement was nothing we have seen ever hit the show ring in the USA!! He came in all Stallion, and I had a BLAST showing him. He was double Firsts, which makes him undefeated this year in the Section D Stallion Class and Double Reserve Grand Champion Cob. Under saddle he put on the best Ridden Cob Class that has probably been seen, with his same trot he showed with in hand. The only thing that held him back was a buck into the gallop, which dropped him to third in the class. English Pleasure he took home a 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

I also had some help with getting Sunny ready. Kylee came over and asked if she could help me, and of course, I said yes. I think Sunny couldn't drop his head any lower for Kylee to put his bridle on. He is quite priceless when it comes to stallions!
Had a wonderful time seeing everyone and showing. Hopefully there will be more shows at this arena! A few more shows for the year, and we will wrap up the show season!

7-5-2009: We have had a wonderful year so far. *Danaway Sunny has been incredible in the show ring, which makes me so thrilled. He has come home a champion under saddle and in hand at every Welsh Show. I have taken on showing him in hand. I LOVE it! Though I do get lost trotting him, he is wonderful and takes such good care of me in the ring. Under saddle he has done great, working wonderful into the bridle and doesn't seem to mind anything in the ring. Our homebred filly, Unbridled Vendetta has been amazing in hand! For a 2 year old filly who is in her first year of showing, she has taken to it like a duck to water. The results are great, coming home a champion each time and even taken home a necksash! Training has been good. We have Keeva going under saddle. She is my 3 year old Welsh Cob Mare who is by Sunny. Her first show is coming up in the Dressage ring. I can't wait to get her out. Looks amazing under saddle. Just like her parents, very smart, learns fast. We are looking forward to the rest of the year with our Cobs, training a few more and getting out to more shows.
On a different note, our Chicken herd has taken off amazing! I sold my Polish, which wasn't easy, but to make room for my new ones, it was worth it. I LOVE the Japanese Bantams. They are wonderful little birds and great to have around the barn yard. We will be showing them this fall.
6-23-2009: Talk about an eventful weekend for us! We had a wonderful start in hand, with Sunny being pinned double firsts in the Section D Stallion Class, then going on to be Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Section D. Mary Jane had a wonderful showing also, talk about putting on a show! She came in all for show! She was pinned 1st, Champion Section B Welsh Filly and Reserve Grand Champion Section B. After that, everything turned into a mess. After the Supreme class, we went to go get ready for ridden cob class, come to find out the keys to EVERYTHING went missing. Needless to say, we had to cancel Ridden Cob and call a locksmith. We found one, he unlocked the trailer and we went right into the English Pleasure Classes, which didn't start til late (Thank Heavens!). Sunny went on to be Reserve English Pleasure Division Champion with two seconds and 1 first. We had to have our truck keys brought down and we headed home late Sunday. It was a great show to see everyone and had a great time showing the ponies!

5-29-2009: Keeva is going under saddle! She has been quite fun to break, easy going just like her sire and dam. I couldn't be happier!! She will be out and about this late Summer going under saddle at the Dressage shows. I'm planning on turning her into my first reining cob! It's really nice to be riding my first homebred and knowing that they are this easy to get going. I just LOVE her!!! It has been fun watching her grow into this lovely mare, makes everything so worth it! We will be posting more updates!
Also, we are now on Twitter! Check us out!

5-25-2009: We had a wonderful time at the AWE Spring Fling, held May 23 and 24 in Walla Walla, WA. We took the two blondes down, Section D Stallion, *Danaway Sunny and Section B Filly Unbridled Vendetta. Both animals did a wonderful job in the show ring. Sunny came back from a 5 year break. The last time he was shown was a 2 year old, winning Supreme champion at Western Nationals. He did it again, winning Supreme Champion under Wyn Jones, UK Judge. His stable mate, Unbridled Ventetta, Section B Welsh Filly was pinned under him as Reserve Supreme Champion. Not bad for a 2 year old who has never been shown! Then Sunny continued doing great, winning English Pleasure Division Reserve Champion and placing Second in the Ridden Cob Class. It was wonderful that our first homebred did so wonderful!!!

4-26-2009: Our first show was great! Sunny was wonderful and handled everything great! He was so well mannered, got mistaken for a gelding many times! We came home with some blues in English Pleasure and Bridle Path Hack. Very fun. It was great fun to show a stallion who has such great manners and can ride wonderful. We are looking forward to the next show, it will depend on how things go. We will keep you updated!
Just to let everyone know, we are now on Facebook! Check us out!
4-12-2009: Our first show will be April 25th. We are very excited, as this will be Sunny's first full year of showing. He is going wonderful under saddle. He is very quiet, as always, and so much fun to ride. After 3 months of training last year with myself being pregnant, he is in wonderful form this year. Look forward to getting him out and about. Our weather has been something though. It has been cold and warm, cold and warm. I wish that spring would just come! We look forward to this year with a few of our homebreds coming out into the ring shown by our farms.

3-25-2009: Well, this year is a slow start for us. Between horrible weather and a new addition to the family, we have been taking things slow. Everyone is taking to their training wonderful, couldn't be happier! We have been training, finishing and getting some oldies working again. Pictured left is Lascaux Local Hero going over fences again. He is a 13 year old Section C Welsh Pony of Cob type Stallion who is back under saddle after 5 years of retirement.

7-19-2009: We had a great time at our first Dressage Show of the season. Keeva, our 3 Year Old Section D Welsh Cob Mare was a star. Took everything in stride and for only having 35 days under saddle, performaned great. The judge had wonderful comments and was very encouraging. It was worth having the 40 Mosquitoe bites to braid the pony up and get great remarks on how well she was groomed!! We look forward to our next Dressage Shows with Keeva. |
